Hello everyone. My name is Ben Jones. Last year, my wife, Donna, and I created the non profit organization called Racing Dreamz. Our mission is to help disaffected and disadvantaged kids get into kart racing as a means to give them a better path and outlook towards life. Starting from scratch, we've come a long way in getting recognized and learning quite a bit. We will be filing for our 501(c)3 tax exempt status this month. The State of Tenn has recognized us as a charitable organization. As soon as we get our 501c3 back from the IRS, we have a small grant waiting for us to get officially started.
Enough of the legal stuff. Now on to the fun part. At first we were considering building our own racing buggys for the kids and trying to organize and build our own racing series. But it seems the cost to build them will be quite high. So, after some research, we found the RzR 170 and the imported 150 SxS's. I read on here that I-81 and Victory Motorsports were looking into establishing a racing SxS series. Will there be a class for the youngsters? Our kids(kids enrolled) ranged from ages 6 to 16. Currently we have 4 kids. We(RD Board) were hoping that we could get involved in the local UTV series. Any and all information and help would greatly be appreciated. We hope to be able to purchase the UTV's and load them up by middle spring. Thanks and hope to learn alot here.
Please feel free to visit our website and check out our sponsors and our programs.

Go to UTVRR.com and all the info is there. I too will have an open seat and I'm sure you would have no problem finding as many more as you needed.

Re: Greetings from the Racing Dreamz Foundation

Thanks for the warm welcome and the links to everything. A lot to learn.

I wanted to share with the members here on some of the things that we will be doing, other than just off road racing. In both programs, the off road and the spring kart training, the first and foremost type of training will be simulation racing. I'm sure some here have seen or even actually sim raced. But if you havent, here's a few links to some videos of some actual racing. I'm racing in all of these, so be nice. I'm not the fastest out there. Just consistent.
We have one simulator already, courtesy of Playseat USA. We plan on adding at least 3 more. The off road sim training will consist of the simulation rFactor using the Baja Bug up to the Pro 4 Truck. The Sprint kart training will consist of both rFactor and iRacing. rFactor first with the kart sims then as the kids gain more control and experience, they will graduate up to iRacing and to a variety of vehicles to learn from. These simulators actually allow them to race against other people across the globe. Live action racing that you control your vehicle from your cockpit, online. Once we feel the kids have mastered these simulators, they will graduate to real, wheel to wheel racing in real vehicles. So, here's a few vids of what I have recorded.

Re: Greetings from the Racing Dreamz Foundation

All you need is a pretty good gaming computer, at least a decent video card, a playseat, Logitech G27 wheel/pedal set and a subscription to either iRacing.com or purchase an rFactor disc(about $25) and you're all set. A number of people will volunteer to paint your vehicles for you or you can pay someone $5 to do it. Or you can use photoshop or Gimp and do it yourself. But a Playseat, you can get one for about $350. Logitech, about $250-$300. iRacing is $12 a month subscription. That's it.

I can get you in touch with the guy that donated our Playseat. He'll do you right and he's the U.S. distributor. I have to warn you though, sim racing is addicting.
