Few things are more horrific than losing your child. My wife and I know this first hand. And any time we can lend a hand to help others not have to go thru what we went thru, we do what we can. This is one of those times.
A good friend holds a ride after super cross every year for to raise money for a fantastic cause. The Ride for A-T has been going on for 9 years now. It raises money for A-T.
What is A-T? Ataxia-telangiectasia, or "A-T," is a progressive, degenerative disease that affects a startling variety of body systems. A-T is presently incurable and unrelenting. If they are lucky enough not to develop cancer, most A-T children are dependent on wheelchairs by the age of ten, not because their muscles are too weak, but because they cannot control them. Later, A-T patients usually die from respiratory failure or cancer by their teens or early twenties.
The ride will be at AMP-MX. There will be several riders from SUPERCROSS there for the Ride4AT. They will have memorabilia and gear to sign and auction off. It's a chance to ride with pro racers and spend good times with family and friends and bring awareness for a good cause.
And there just may be a little something special going on for Side by Sides that day.
You never know
Hope you guys can come out and join the fun.
you can find info and directions for AMPMX here.

Hey Kev, didn't realize you had a loss like that, I am so sorry. What is going on for SxS that weekend? I would like to come to it if I can make my schedule work, I just come back in from out of town a few days before. You should read my post I started on the movie Courageous.

Re: Please read.
Chill,
Thanks. Although this is not the affliction that took our son, it's a terrible disease that can and does kill. Any time we can help with causes like this, we try to do what we can. And Keith is a great dude that knows the reality of this disease far too well.
We are working on a SxS exhibition at AMP. They guy that runs it, Matt Shue, and I have known each other since we were 4 or 5. He's a dirt bike kid, and he's interested if his track would work for SxS. It's MX course, but we will see what we can do.
I hope those that can make it will give it a go.
